Dandruff issues? Oh, count me in! I am suffering dandruff on my scalp for years already and it certainly bothers me, especially in the winter time when it is so cold and dry. The unwanted white flakes dropping on my shoulders every time I brush my hairs is so embarrassing, and not only that, there’s the itchy feeling that it is hard to control not to scratch it even in public.

What causes dandruff?

Based on my research, there are several causes of dandruff, and
below are among of those:
  • Seborrheic dermatitis
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis
  • Overgrowth of yeast like fungus

In my case, I haven’t visited yet any doctor to ask for
right treatment for my scalp problem, however, I have been experimenting to
personally treat my scalp through research and with the help of online reviews.
In terms of drugstore remedies, I have tried the Neutrogena Dandruff shampoo, but I
don’t like the result because it makes my hair and scalp so dry even rinsing
the hair very well. I tried putting regular shampoo as well after rinsing the
hair with the use dandruff shampoo, but unfortunately my dandruff didn’t go
away.

 Natural Remedies

As getting frustrated, I am now willing to try anything just
to get rid of my annoying dandruff. Actually, Lemon is my first home remedy applied
on my scalp. And the result? Honestly, I like it, but when there’s a tiny cut
on my scalp brought by scratching, oh yeah, there’s something burning in my
head, so I stop the lemon after a few applications. Then now is a different one,
the Apple Cider Vinegar.

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has the acidity that changes the pH of my scalp, making the yeast harder to grow. By the way, I am using organic apple cider vinegar from the organic store nearby. I mix one half cup ACV with a quarter cup water in a bit bigger cup and transfer it to a spray bottle and then I spritz it on my scalp. After spraying, I wrap my hair using my extra old shower cup, leaving it for 1 hour then wash my hair. I am doing this kind of ritual twice a week and to tell you my experience. I am having soft, shiny hair and have the feeling that my dandruff would be leaving me pretty soon. Folks, I am just in my two weeks process so I can’t fully see the effect of the ACV to my scalp.
